Item Description
11x17” stiff cardboard designed by “Mortimer,” featuring three Robert Kennedy images plus psychedelic lettering including “SRO” of title believed to be “Standing Room Only.” Event was May 24, 1968, just four days before the shock of losing the May 28th Oregon primary to Eugene McCarthy that set the stage for the crucial California primary on June 4th. The latter was won by RFK but ended in tragedy on June 5th when he was fatally shot exiting the hotel after his victory speech. Concert was held at “LA Sports Arena” and offers “Special Student Tickets” available on campuses for “Students For Kennedy” or at “Kennedy For President Headquarters” on Wilshire Boulevard. Concert featured: The Byrds, Sonny & Cher, Mahalia Jackson, Roosevelt Grier and others. Outstanding RFK presidential campaign poster, rare and essentially NM.
