Item Description
7/8" with W&H back paper, small piece off lower right,  used 1896-98. Reverse collet has narrow and wider sections indicating item once held a circular brass wire so that wire and the  cello at center could be used as a money clip. Wire is gone and a standard brass spring pin is in its place. Pictured is well dressed young boy at table with china serving pieces for cocoa. He appears shocked with eyes closed, mouth open and hands overlapping on his chest. Tiny caption below scene is "Bitter Sweet".  Scene flanked at sides by "Trade Mark". There is tiny dirt speck under "H" of "Hershey's". NM as made.  See another early Hershey button #716. Hake's CPB 1896-1986 color plate page 151 specimen. Comes w/ Hake's COA. Only example known to us.
