Item Description
5x7" printed on thin card stock w/blank back. ACC# R162. c. 1939 ©WDP. Features scene titled "Where Did That Come From?' from the Disney short "The Ugly Duckling" based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale. Other shorts/films featured in this series include Brave Little Tailor, Ferdinand, Donald's Lucky Day, Practical Pig and others. Little is known about this rarely seen issue. There are 25 in the set but aside from a full set in the legendary Burdick Collection (now housed in the Metropolitan Museum Of Art) only a few have surfaced over the years. In our last few auctions we have offered several different from this series and they have sold between $1,100 and $2,200 each. Aside from the one in this auction, those were the only other examples from this set we have offered in our 50 years. Blank reverse has penciled text regarding this series. Tiny corner tip wear and margin aging but totally bright, clean and NM. A true non-sports rarity.
