Item Description

A very interesting card issue by Model Airplane Co. from 1950-51. Set of 60 cards, each 2x3". ACC# R775. Cards are thick cardboard w/die-cut design and attached on backs by pair of staples are two "bars" that are designed to create movement of the images once removed from the "frame." Fronts are full color, backs are bw w/text for that image along w/instructions. The first 30 cards are "Western & Circus" theme while the following 30 are "Military" and each series was released as a separate issue. Great images throughout such as clowns and other circus performers, cowboys and Indians, soldiers, aircraft, battle scenes and more. As is typical, most have some degree of staple oxidation (some w/staining to the cards themselves), much more so on the Military cards than the other series and more evident on backs than fronts. All remain unpunched w/sharp corners and vibrant art. Aside from staple issues, NM. Empty display box is 6.5x7.5x2" deep and for the "Western/Circus" series. Box has corner splits and other wear w/some tape repairs but can be assembled and still displays nicely. VG. Pair of wrappers (one for each series) are 3.75x4.5". "Military" has some minor staple stains, Fine while other is clean and Exc. The New England Non-Sports Card Collection.
