Item Description
11x13.5" olive leatherette school bag w/red vinyl piping and attached canvas carry strap and leather pouch straps w/metal fasteners. Front pocket has 4x4.5" silk-screened design depicting classic scene showing Captain Marvel throwing a fighter plane into the air. ©1947 Fawcett Publications Inc. One of two versions produced, the other is canvas w/only carrying handle. Captain Marvel's usual red uniform appears slightly faded but this is as printed and not faded. Moderate wear to leatherette surface along flap fold w/some areas of surface missing. Vinyl piping has some cracks w/one corner missing piping in .5" area. Front pocket has moderate aging. VG overall. Both versions of this school bag are rare and this is only the third example of either we've offered in our 50 years. This is the photo example featured in the book "Shazam!: The Golden Age Of The World's Mightiest Mortal."
