Item Description
7x9" wooden plaque w/attached 8" long ornate metal key has attached etched plaque that reads "Iron Eyes Cody - Key To The City Of Newport Tennessee - Mayor Jeanne Y. Nelson - May 27th & 28th, 1989" as well as having attached Newport city seal (which has small dent). Cody (a Sicilian-American actor noted for his portrayal of Native Americans in Hollywood films) is perhaps best known for his role as a Native American shedding a tear about litter in one of the country's most well-known television PSAs, "Keep America Beautiful." Back of plaque has "Roger's" sticker. Scattered lt. wear w/trace aging to brass plaque. VF/Exc.
