Item Description
Sizes are 5/8" to 1.25". Group begins with 1.25" button with text in German. Sixteen children and adults, including a black woman at front left, surround Jesus astride a donkey at the crowd's center. He has one hand raised in a blessing gesture and many in the crowd hold palm fronds. Text in German loosely translates to: "Honor (or reward) The Children-The World For Christmas." Reverse has blank paper and curl names maker W&H. Mint and the only example we've seen. Next is oval "Merry Christmas" button showing three wise men with their camels. Reverse has 3/8" long split along the collet with cello making a tiny bulge on top edge and a single dot bump on extreme right edge. Still displays beautifully. Next is a die-cut cello Christmas tree stickpin inscribed "Merry Christmas." Next features a gold star in the night sky above tiny buildings apparently representing Bethlehem captioned by the word "Christmas." Fifth button has the same concept and sixth button "Kenosha Community Xmas Tree." Faint bit of browning at left. All NM to Mint except as noted. All items c. 1930s or earlier.
