Item Description
20x41.75" frame contains double-matted 14x36" insert poster for the original 1958 American DCA release of the Japanese tokusatsu (any live-action film or TV drama that features considerable use of special effects) film "Half Human," originally produced and released by Toho Film Productions Ltd. in 1955. The film was made by Toho's Godzilla production team, consisting of Ishiro Honda, Eiji Tsuburaya and Tomoyuki Tanaka. This was director Honda's second assignment in the kaiju genre, after 1954's "Godzilla." As w/that film, "Half Human" had an American version cobbled together, added extensive new scenes starring John Carradine and featuring Morris Ankrum and other American actors, and the entire soundtrack was replaced w/American stock music cues, sound-effects, and voice-over narration by Carradine replacing all dialogue in the Japanese scenes. Poster has a number of horizontal fold lines and has had some professional restoration, restoring the poster to an Exc. appearance as professionally double-matted and framed.
