Item Description
First is 1.75" early 1900s full color version (most often done in sepia) advertising a Cincinnati bridge builder. Viewed right side up is woman wearing pendant at her neck and holding her black gloved hands by her face. When turned upside down the gloves turn into stockings, the arms turn into bare legs and the pendant turns into her privates. Outer edge of the mirror silvering is darkened some but nearly 100% complete and the celluloid has only small traces of surface wear in reflected light. Displays glossy and Exc. Second is 2.25" mirror promoting "Joe Grein's Sauer Kraut Juice." "Before Drinking" shows frowning man while upside down "After" shows smiling man with text "Mild Laxative-It's Different-For Complexion And Pep." This is actually one of the very few litho tin pocket mirrors with the design and text printed on metal rather than on paper beneath celluloid. First we've seen and NM. Last is 3" combination paperweight/mirror promoting Casper, Wyoming packing company. Happy face has text "I Buy Wyoming Brand Meats And Lard" while frowning face has text "I Wish I Did." One small .25" pale tan age mark on the rim. Rest is clean. Made by American Artworks. These last two are c. 1920.
