Item Description
5.75" tall (8.75" tall to top of raised handle) tin litho. Ohio Art, © WDE, 1930s. Great wrap-around scene depicting Mickey Mouse surfing, holding hand of Minnie Mouse, who is held aloft by balloons. Pluto swims beside them w/an alarmed look on his face. Scene in bkg. features Ferris wheel (repeated image, though Ferris wheel has different number of spokes from image to image). Bold "Atlantic City" name at top of pail. Rims show scattered wear as does seam, but aside from a few small scattered paint flakes, pail remains glossy and bright. Displays VF. "Possibly The Rarest Ohio Art Sand Pail" as noted in Doug and Pat Wengel's book "Comic Character Metal Sand Toys." Very rare and first we've offered in our 50 years.
