Item Description
13-5/8x21-3/8x1.25" deep framed display for RIAA Gold Record sales award for The Roots' breakthrough album, "Things Fall Apart," which was released Feb. 23, 1999. Nicely crafted display features large bkg. photo of one of the five album covers used for this release, showing a photo taken during a riot in the Civil Rights Movement era, showing two African-American teenagers fleeing riot police. The remaining four covers are featured below mounted CD, which appear above RIAA hologram strip plate that has been mounted to give floating effect. RIAA strip reads "Presented To Larry Solitrin To Commemorate RIAA Certified Sales Over 500,000 Copies Of The Roots Album 'Things Fall Apart'." Plexiglas cover has reverse-painted "Okay Player" company logo and "The Roots - Things Fall Apart" names. NM. Nirtilos Collection.
