Item Description
Lot of five. Two 7/8" dia. litho buttons were both issued in 1942. The first ever Superman button was released in 1939 and the 7/8" litho button offered here w/image of Superman breaking chains is slight redesign of that button, featuring "Superman" name in same style as title logo on comic books. Reverse has blue text on brass luster and reads "Read Superman Action Comics Magazine." The first button had this text on silver. Second 7/8" litho button is "Superman-Tim Club" member's button and features profiles of both characters. Both litho buttons have some lt. wear and are VF overall. Next three are all 1.25" dia. cello buttons issued as part of "Supermen Of America" club kits. 1940 issue has some back wear but front remains bright and glossy. Exc. 1950s issue features updated Superman image and slightly different text font which differs slightly from next button, which is last button issued for this club and is ©1961. Both 1950s and 1961 buttons remain bright, glossy and Exc.
