Item Description
9.5x10.5" hardcover book w/36 pages. Published by Grosset & Dunlap, ©1936 Walt Disney Enterprises. This is the first hardcover Donald Duck book, w/both bw and full color contents, the full page color illustrations also appeared in the first ever book devoted to Donald, which was done in the linen-like format. Hardcover edition featured completely rewritten text and has had bw illustrations added throughout. Of note, Mickey Mouse's nephews are featured, named Morty and Monty. Nice endpapers w/Donald illustrations, additional image of him appears on back cover. Dustjacket shows some scattered wear w/.5" tear at top front and .75" tear at back bottom. DJ remains unclipped and is Fine overall. Book has minor wear w/corner bumps, but remains totally bright and clean. VF+. Inked name/date at top right margin of front endpapers. First story page has smudge, but all else is totally clean and Exc. Rare w/DJ and even rarer in this condition. Rogers M. Fred, Jr. BLB & Related Collection.
