Item Description
13.5x19.75" cardboard poster for Aug. 18, 1970 basketball game at Kutsher's Country Club in New York's Catskills. Maurice Stokes was a rising star in the NBA until he was stricken with post traumatic encephalitis after suffering an injury during a game, that left him permanently paralyzed. His best friend and teammate  Jack Twyman became his guardian and helped organize this charity basketball game which consistently drew the best NBA talent, including for this game Wilt Chamberlain, Wes Unseld, "Pistol Pete" Maravich, and others. This game occurred a few months after his untimely passing in April 1970. We are also offering a lot of autographed programs from this game, see item #864. Poster has some aging and scattered wear. Fine. Lot also comes with a ticket stub from the game in Exc. condition.
