Item Description
Lot of four hardcovers books (w/dustjackets) published by Arkham House, a publisher specializing in science fiction, fantasy and horror founded in 1939 by August Derleth and Donald Wandrei to initially preserve the fiction of author H.P. Lovecraft. The company's name being derived from Lovecraft's fictional New England city, Arkham. Arkham House editions are noted for the quality of their printing and binding. All are first editions; titles/years/editions printed in this lot, all by Lovecraft, include - "Dagon" (1965 - 3,500 printed), "The Dark Brotherhood And Other Pieces" (1966 - 3,500 printed), "Selected Letters" (1968 - 2,500 printed), "The Watchers Out Of Time" (1974 - 5,000 printed). All DJs are unclipped. General wear/aging as expected in stated grades. "Dagon" Fine DJ w/Exc. book. "The Dark Brotherhood And Other Pieces" has aged DJ spine w/chips at top/bottom and is VG. Book itself is Exc. "Selected Letters" DJ has scattered age spotting and notable moisture staining at bottom back corner. DJ is VG. Book has trace wear at cover from moisture but is o/w VF. "The Watchers Out Of Time" is Exc./NM.
