Item Description
Large 2.25" rwb button with classic image of Mickey in his orange shorts and waving a greeting with one hand. Text below him is "Copy. 1928-1930 / by W.E. Disney". The earliest movie theatre clubs elected an officer slate headed by kids dubbed "Chief Mickey Mouse" and "Chief Minnie Mouse". Buttons were produced for these and a few other offices such as this "Song Leader". All are quite rare as only one was produced per officer for the very limited number of mostly west coast theatres in 1930 sponsoring a Mickey Mouse Club. Celluloid has typical all over, but extremely light and short,  hairline surface scratches seen just in reflected light. There is no stain and nice original gloss to the celluloid.  Extremely fine and displaying Mint with normal viewing. Our last example from the Maurice Sendak Collection  in Auction #212 had the words "Song Leader" in faded red and realized over $1300.00.
