Item Description
3.5" dia. celluloid button features photo image of "Dr. Shock," a Philadelphia, PA horror host portrayed by Joseph Zawislak and based on Zacherle's "Roland" character and used w/his blessing. First appearing in 1969, he hosted three shows, "Scream-In, Mad Theater" and "Horror Theater." Zawislak died in 1979 at the young age of 42. Button features "Let There Be Fright" tagline as well as pair of bats. Original issue and not the more commonly seen reproductions, ©1970. Rim spotting/foxing and some surface wear visible in reflected light. Slight bump at edge of photo from bar pin on reverse, w/tiny spot of staining at this area. Still bright, glossy and VG overall. Rare.
