Item Description
3-5/8" tall beautiful figurine by the famous German company, c. 1932. This is #655 in the series w/incised number under base along w/"Rosenthal" company mark. Wonderfully expressive pose of Minnie Mouse about to apply make-up to her face, holding an open compact in one hand and a powder puff in the other. All Rosenthal figurines are rare, particularly in the US as they were never distributed here. Rosenthals are considered to be the finest Mickey and Minnie Mouse figurines ever produced. Figurine has some scattered black paint wear, mostly confined to the back of Minnie's head/ears and tail, though there are some small areas of wear on her chest and arm. About 95% of the paint remains. As seen from the front, figure still displays Exc. Fewer Minnie Mouse Rosenthal varieties were produced in comparison to the amount of Mickey Mouse figurines produced, making all of them rare. Ex-Maurice Sendak Collection.
