Item Description
8.5x11x3" deep window box w/stamped label area reading - "Fred Gonk." 1964. Box lid has cellophane window present, but w/2.75" split at center right and .75" tear along window edge. Box is Fine/VF overall. Contained within is size medium (8-10) rayon costume w/vinyl piping. Chest features silk-screened design, showing British character produced by Gund Manufacturing Company, who became a hit w/teenagers. Design also features "Be Gonk - Go Gonk" text and Gonks Ltd. copyright. Costume is unworn w/original tag intact. Fabric has slightest aging but costume is o/w Exc. Thin, vacuform plastic mask features the entirety of Fred Gonk and is NM w/no cracks/dents and has original string in place. Old store stock. A very rare and obscure costume. First we've offered in our 50 years.
