Item Description
These buttons are 2.25" or 2.5". They were all issued by the school located in Houghton, Michigan with each button titled "Michigan Tech Winter Carnival." The buttons are apparently student designed and do not carry copyrights of the character owners. From 1968 is Donald on skates with a hockey stick. From 1970 is Snoopy on a snowmobile. 1971 image with title "The Age Of Shiv-v-alry" may be taken from the Disney story Ghost Of The Grotto. 1972 pictures a hockey player but without a related character known to us. 1973 pictures Merlin from "The Sword In The Stone." 1974 pictures an absolute dead-ringer for Homer Simpson holding a bottle and wearing a winter hat frozen within a block of ice. In 1974 Matt Groening was about 20 and attending the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. Although he served as editor of the campus newspaper an also drew some cartoons, his character Homer was many years from his launch to stardom which occurred in the late 1980s. All buttons are NM displaying Mint.
