Item Description
2.5" button with pale blue cardboard back and bar pin. Reverse has tiny 1/8" rub on the cello edge but this shows on the front as only a barely perceptible tiny bump on extreme edge at 11 o'clock. Front of the button remains totally clean and overall  NM displaying Mint. During the 1960s spy boom there were many products associated with Bond but this is one of the more unusual. It was a blend of malt liquor and beer produced in 1968 by the National Brewing Co., Baltimore, Maryland. The product cans featured attractive women posing in front of London backdrops. The brand was pulled when National Brewing learned they should have checked with the estate of Ian Fleming before using the trade marks on a commercial product without permission. The cans are highly valued and this button worn by a retail sales clerk or salesman is certainly even rarer than the product cans. Only example known to us.
