Item Description
2" dia. silver luster case Ingersoll pocket watch. 1934. Back of case has incised "Always Find Time For A Good Deed - Tom Mix" lasso text. Inscribed letters were accented by red paint, about 50% of paint remains on the lettering. Silver luster on case is about 98% complete with just a tiny sliver on reverse top edge where silvering has darkened slightly. Dial has full color image of Tom Mix throwing lasso, which loops over/around Tony towards the lower center where there is a small longhorn steer second wheel. The paper label on this second wheel was missing but it has been replaced w/an exact color photocopy from an original watch w/near perfect color match. Only w/magnification can the fact that this is a copy be discerned. Watch has its correct bright yellow hands. Dial is extremely clean w/just the slightest natural darkening of the white bkg. A VF example of one of the rarest and most desirable character/personality timepieces, in working condition. We have only ever offered two or three other examples of this rare pocket watch in our 50 years.
