Item Description
Pair of textiles, created during the days of the Spanish-American Way, 1898. 22x23" textile shows well-dressed woman standing on the Cuban coast, waving large American flag as the Great White Fleet sails in the waters surrounding fort flying American flags in bkg. Textile has scattered aging w/some staining to reverse margins as once mounted. This does not affect front's display greatly. Collection ink stamp at top right. Scattered wear and handling w/fold creases. Fine overall. 23x23.5" textile features image of the USS Maine at center w/"Remember The Maine" text surrounded by patriotic American flag design and shield. Three collection ink stamps (including at top right of Maine image square) and some corner pinholes, but o/w VF. Rare.
