Item Description
Four 5.75x8” Western Union telegrams for “The Mummy” star Zita Johann. As usual, telegrams have paste-on strips with various messages of luck and good wishes from fans and friends of the star. Three c. 1953, one from 1964. Most deal with Johann’s theater engagements at the time. Telegrams have aged to a cream color and have varying degrees of handling wear including creases and folds. Overall Fine. Glossy 8x10” bw portrait shows the beautiful actress posed for camera. Has “Portrait By Otto Dyar” stamped into back of photo. Light handling wear with .25” chip off top left-hand corner and some light creasing at corners as well as a .5” tear on top border. Scattered light staining in margins and a .5” faint streak above her head. Most of these would matte out nicely for a VF/Exc. display. An unusual grouping of personal effects from the late Hollywood star.
