Item Description
7.75x11.75" on original 17.5" long pole including ornamental finial. The 37 stars in the canton are arranged to create one large star at center w/four smaller stars in each corner of the canton. This 'Great Star' pattern is among the most coveted by collectors. The 37 star flag was official from March of 1867, when Nebraska joined the union, to 1877. Scattered pulls affecting the fly end most notably a 1" partial separation at bottom right. Three partial separations on hoist end where the flag is nailed to the pole. Additionally, we note a less than 2" horizontal separation at top right just below the hemmed top edge. Fine. Only light age toning of cream stripes and colors remain vibrant.
