Item Description
Original hinged lid cardboard box w/illustrated lid w/partial original cardboard insert contains 2.25x4.25x2" tall bank designed like a chest w/embossed oilcloth fabric over brass. Zell Products Co. 1930s. Box has large split along hinge as well as corner tip/edge wear. Back of box lid has about half of surface paper missing and back right corner has split/damage. Box is VG overall but rare, this just the second example we've seen in our 50 years. This bank came in both standard and 1933-1934 Chicago World's Fair versions as well as a number of color varieties. This is cream color (w/red accents) variety of the Chicago World's Fair version w/gold luster side panels. Bank features brick pattern w/full figure images of Mickey and Minnie Mouse on top w/text reading "Mickey And Minnie At The 1933-1934 Chicago World's Fair." On the front, rather than images of them at the entrance of a bank, there are images of buildings "Hall Of Science, Travel And Transportation, Federal." Complete w/original key. Tiny traces of wear to the brass-plated side panels but near full bright luster remains. Other lt. aging but VF overall.
