Item Description
9.25x16x1-3/8" deep cardboard box w/illustrated and text lid labels. Box contains complete set of three puzzles. Made in England by Chad Valley, 1930s. Illustrated lid label features choice illustration of the Three Pigs dancing atop deceased Big Bad Wolf as Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Pluto look through a window. This great image was also used for Disney Studio 1933 Christmas card. This image was also issued as a puzzle by itself (see following item #1627). Text labels notes "The Complete Series Of The Three Famous Jig-Saw Puzzles - House Of Straw, House Of Sticks, House Of Bricks." Box is complete w/original cardboard dividers. Lid shows moderate scattered wear w/two corner splits and edge wear as well as even aging to labels. VG/Fine. Wood puzzles w/paper labels featuring choice illustration of each of the Three Pigs standing in front of each of their houses. Puzzles are complete and Exc. Rare and first we've seen of this set in our 50 years.
