Item Description
13x24.75" on thin newsprint. Striking graphic of a large rooster standing stop the US Capitol dome. Text at bottom reads "The Democracy Of Orrville And Vicinity Will Hold A Grand Jollification Over The Result Of The Election Of Cleveland And Stevenson Tuesday Afternoon And Evening Nov. 15." Additional text of note reads "A Grand Parade And Torchlight Procession" and "Let Joy Be Unconfined; Blow Your Fish Horns, Ring Your Bells And Make The Demonstration A Memorable One." Fragile newsprint has edge losses and a less than 2" wide by .5" high hole just left of the rooster and two small holes affecting the graphic on its tail and neck. Additionally we note there appears to be a tear or separation below the text at top. Good. Likely fixed in some manner to the backing board. Would benefit from attention by a professional paper conservator. Striking design and great text. First we've seen in our 50 years.
