Item Description
6x9" glossy 4-page folder (shown open in our photo) from 1931. Front cover serves as an order blank with classic image of Mickey and text at top "Mr. Exhibitor: I Will Help You Increase Your Box Office Business During The Summer Months - Mickey Mouse." Backcover features photo of the classic Disney book "The Adventures Of Mickey Mouse" and notes a first printing of 50,000 copies published by David McKay Company. Inside two pages feature two exceptional items. One is photo of 18" tall Mickey doll by Charlotte Clark with text reading "The Famous Mickey Mouse Doll Retail Value $5.00/Given Free With An Initial Order Of 250 Books/Used For Window Display With Poster." Opposite page features the poster which is an advertising poster for the "Adventures Of Mickey Mouse" book noting size of 11x14" and featuring superb Art Deco-style art of Mickey reading in bed. Poster is noted as being "Sent Free On Request/Painted By Walt Disney." Unused order form front has additional text noting that the book was available through arrangement with Columbia Pictures Corp. and "Sold To Exhibitors At The Special Low Price Of Thirty Cents Each." Trace of cover aging with horizontal fold on bottom third. Still clean and VF. First we've seen.
