Item Description
This 1.75" button has curl text "Copyright 1903, Ford Mfg. Co. St. Louis" followed by name of the maker "F.F. Pulver Co. Rochester, NY." In addition, the reverse has Bastian Brothers back paper, the firm which bought out the Pulver Co. Front of the button has "1803" date at bottom with text at top "World's Fair 1904." At the top, as if in the clouds, Thomas Jefferson looks over the scene of two men. On the left is Robert Livingston, the U.S. minister to Paris who negotiated the purchase with Napoleon on the right. In his right hand,  Napoleon holds the "Deed to Louisiana" and in Livingston's right hand is money bag labeled "$15,000,000". Among the best and rarest 1904 expo buttons. Also see Geographic button lot #643 for Missouri which includes another rare 1904 expo button.
