Item Description
2.25x6x1.25" deep illustrated cardboard box holds matched set of 5" long red catalin plastic mechanical pencil and pen. Eagle Pencil Company, ©1929 KFS Inc. but 1930s. Box has different illustrations on each sides w/many promotional word balloons w/characters. Example of text is Olive Oyl saying to Popeye "Aren't The Pen And Pencil Sets Just Too Divine Popeye?" Characters include Popeye, Olive, Wimpy, Swee'Pea, Jeep and Alice the Goon. Box has even lt. aging and lid has color rubs at edges/corners. Fine overall. Popeye decal on pencil w/Popeye and Olive decal on pen. Both have "Popeye" name on decals. Decals are complete. Pen has some oxidation to metal lever and a few tiny spots of staining. VF/Exc. overall. Rare as boxed.
