Item Description
23.25x40" silk w/fabric letters. Featuring the group's logo at center and text at bottom "Siniaver BR.154, I.W.O." Loops at top are designed to be stitched at back to attach to pole. Light wear but overall a super clean example. Extremely Fine. The IWO was a Communist related group that evolved out the Jewish group The Workman's Circle. It worked to provided low cost insurance and other protections against sickness to laborers. At its height just after WWII the group claimed over 200,000 members and almost 20,000 branches. The group was a target of the Dies Committee of the Un-American Activities Of the US House of Representatives that singled out leading members as Communists. Rare.
