Item Description
5.75x8.25" salesman's sample book "Striking For Life Or Labor's Side Of The Labor Question" w/hard bound cover featuring portrait of "Eugene V. Debs" above a locomotive and "J. M. Sovereign." Debs also has full page interior portrait. Damp stain at top right and moderate wear including some loss of the gilt application, VG. Rare. Second item is 5.25x8" wooden cigar box lid w/paper label reading "Grand Chief Brotherhood Of Locomotive Firemen." Box lid has indentation and hole at center affecting portrait and staining and age toning throughout. Good. Rare. This was the union that Debs was Brotherhood Grand Secretary of before forming the American Railway Union.
