Item numbers 897 through 2517 in auction 186
Item Description
Two 11”x14” lobby cards. First in lot is “Abbott & Costello Meet the Killer, Boris Karloff” from 1949. This is the title card for this series and as is usual for Abbott & Costello films of the time, card shows large photo heads of Abbott & Costello and Karloff with smaller caricature bodies. Spooky designed card has haunted tree, vulture, two women with knife and gun and hand coming up from water with sign that reads “More Ghoulish Glee Then When They Met Frankenstein!” Card has heavy handling wear with 1/8”x3” chip missing on left hand side, pinholes in margins, and a .5” tape residue bleed through at middle right margin. VG. Second card in pair is for the 1945 film “Abbott & Costello in Hollywood.” Card features a funny photo image of Costello answering an oversized telephone as Abbott counts money, that is scattered all over table. Pinholes in top margin and a .75” tear to upper left hand corner. 1/8” tear from pinhole in bottom right hand corner. FN.
