Item Description
Illustrated box contains 6" tall tin litho toy w/built-in key. 1950s. ©KFS. Nicely illustrated lid features Popeye on top skating by Olive Oyl. Two side panels show Popeye, Olive and Swee'Pea all skating by Poopdeck Pappy. Box shows moderate wear and even aging, w/1.75" edge split to upper right corner of lid, which also has .25" puncture to main panel at center right and two 3/8" line punctures at left. Box is VG overall but retains its shape for display. Toy depicts Popeye on roller skates and holding plate w/can of spinach up in the air. Complete w/metal rod stem and wooden bowl pipe. Synthetic fabric pants shows typical aging/fading w/three tiny holes at waist. Some scattered tiny paint nicks, but still bright and glossy. Toy works and he skates about while changing direction every so often. Fine. Classic Linemar Popeye toy.
