Item Description
Stiff celluloid cross 3.25" long.  Impressed into the celluloid like a steel engraving is the image of a rose stem including leaves, thorns and a center blossom. The letters "INRI" stand for the Latin initials of the words that Pontius Pilate had written over the head of Jesus on the cross with the English translation "Jesus Of Nazareth, The King Of The Jews". In tiny letters on the bottom front edge is the name of the company which was among the very first to produce celluloid products. Reverse of the piece has a pair of celluloid domes at the far left and right with one dome holding a "T" shaped hinge with a bar pin extending left and held by a "C" shaped clasp. There is a ribbon-like design on the cross with text "Valley Of Chicago." Small bit of black color loss over the word "Of" but all else is Exc. One seen. A rare and exceptionally early celluloid pin-back badge.
