Item Description
The first piece is 13/16" tall most often seen in a larger format with panel across the eagle "Ships For Victory." This rare variety has vertical pin on reverse and is stamped with a design patent number along with initials of maker "A.E. Co." and "10K". Front of the piece includes the text "Award Of Merit/Maritime Commission." This piece weighs five grams and is Mint. With it comes enamel on brass 7/8" lapel stud with threaded post and screw cap. Serial number "104" on the reverse. On the front "War Service" appears above the ship with rim reading "Ship Building/Our Answer To Hitler." A little damage and tiny loss of the white enamel panel and some very trivial wear to the blue outer edge but still displaying Fine. Rare pair.
