Item Description
Items are 5/8" to 1.25". The four items featuring enamel include the words "U.S. Shipping Board Emergency Fleet Corporation" except the lapel stud on its original card has these words represented by initials only. The piece with eagle above ship's wheel also has the words "War Work U.S.A." The two smallest enamel pieces have one as a stud and one as a pinback. The piece on the card has additional text "On Government Work" with center ship image and text below "Hog Island Penna." This was a shipyard near Philadelphia. The award medal with loop at top is at least silver plated if not sterling. Front rim names "United States Shipping Board Emergency Fleet Corporation." Center shows ship with text below "Given In Recognition Extra-Ordinary Effort In Ship Construction In Time Of The Nation's Need." Reverse is inscribed "Camden May 15, 1918 World's Record 'S. S. Tuckahoe' Launched In 27 Days Completed In 37 Days At The Yard Of New York Shipbuilding Corporation." The remaining two pieces are a copper luster lapel stud with center ship inscribed "U.S." and rim text "Ship Yard Volunteer". Last is the tiny item as a silvered brass pin depicting a ship with text on the side "A Bridge Of Ships To France". All are Exc. to Mint. Many rarities.
