Item Description
This piece, c. 1932, features a 7/8" tall black enamel and sterling (unmarked) figure of Mickey designed by London silversmith Charles Horner. His sterling Mickey pins are well known but this is the first time we've seen his Mickey figure as a bookmark. The larger translucent Bakelite or celluloid piece is 3-5/8" long with a second piece 1-7/8" long overlaid at the top. The thin opening between these two pieces allows it to be slipped over the page of a book to serve as a marker. The tip of the piece has the very slightest traces of surface wear. There are also a couple of almost microscopic surface marks above Mickey's head. These are minor traces of wear and overall the piece is VF. First we've seen.
