Item Description
25x25.5". 1844. Center portrait is encircled by stalks of wheat w/text "Clay/Frelinghuysen" at top and bottom and "Tariff/Union" flanking. Each corner has a campaign motif including: "Agriculture And Commerce" at top left; "Union And Our Country" at top right; "Tariff Home League" at bottom left and "Rolling In To Clear The Way" w/image of racoon holding a "Constitution" following a ball. A faint light brown stain at top center that is only noticeable along the top cream border and would frame out nicely. Otherwise only minimal and scattered light brown dots of toning most notably in the cream field just right of the top left motif. VF. Overall a very clean and striking example of this rare survivor that will frame beautifully.
