Item Description
Lot of five 11x14" lobby cards for the 1922 silent film starring Douglas Fairbanks and Wallace Beery, The movie's full title, under which it was copyrighted, is "Douglas Fairbanks In Robin Hood." One of the most expensive films of the 1920s (w/a budget estimated at approximately one million dollars), it was a smash hit and received generally favorable reviews. Each card features different action pose of Fairbanks as Robin Hood at right w/color tinted scenes from the film, including four clearly showing Fairbanks; three w/Lady Marian (played by Enid Bennett). Jousting card has slight trim to top margin and has been paper-backed w/restoration to pin holes at corners and 1.75x3" area at upper right. Card is evenly aged and displays Fine/VF as restored. Other cards have pin holes at corners and are evenly aged w/some scattered handling/corner tip wear. VG/Fine overall.All are scarce. Richard Calusdian Collection.
