Item Description
16" tall (to top of ears) doll by Ideal Novelty & Toy Co., ©1950 Terrytoons. Not to be confused w/the more common 1960s Mighty Mouse dolls, this is the rare earlier version, featuring Mighty Mouse's face made of starched and painted linen (instead of vinyl as seen in later versions), w/back of head and ears composed of felt, as is body and boots. Hands are soft vinyl and belt is vinyl (w/metal buckle). Mighty Mouse's cape is satin lined w/rayon. Cape is secured by satin bow. Doll was issued w/rare 1.5" dia. celluloid button on chest. Button features tiny Ideal name above image of Mighty Mouse in flight. Button has pair of hairlines in celluloid, but this are only really noticeable upon close inspection. Button remains bright, glossy and nice for display. Doll is complete w/original double-sided "An Ideal Ultrafine Animal" string tag about neck. Doll has some scattered lt. surface loss to interior of ears and some tiny holes on feet. Still VF for display. Rare doll.
