Item Description
1.75" with concave metal back, fixed vertical bar pin and ribbon sealed in place beneath the metal back. The "golden spike" was driven into place on May 10, 1869 at Promontory Summit, Utah to complete the first transcontinental railroad. This button with ribbon is a rare survivor of the 50th anniversary celebration held in Ogden. People who worked on the railroad's construction 50 years earlier attended and were given these "Guest of Honor" badges. Light age marks on the 7" ribbon. Historic, Fine and rare.
