Item Description
First is a 7" long woven silk ribbon. Reverse top edge has adhered .5" oval of surface paper that covers name of Chicago maker, otherwise Mint. Next are matching 4.5" tall ribbon badges, one bronze and one white medal. Hanger reads "Maryland" with "Souvenir" below. Thick 1.75" medal shows Columbus with text below "Genoa 1447/Palos 1492/Salvador 1492/Chicago 1893". Reverse center has Maryland state seal surrounded by many flying birds, turtles and oysters. Medal text "1893 Commemorating Maryland's Participation In The World's Columbian Exposition". Text on ribbon back "Design Copyright 1893, By Frank Brown, Governor". Both NM. Last is brass 2-5/16" long "Maryland Souvenir" badge from the expo. VF. The matching medals are rare.
