Item Description
30x40" poster features artwork by Joseph Christian Leyendecker of two World War I era Marines, one standing w/rifle, the other playing bugle. The USMC symbol is on pedestal between them. Left/right margins have 16 real photo images of various Marine activities, including Marine Band, baseball, barracks, football, bowling, scenes aboard battleships, conducting search in Mexico, etc. 1917. Poster has been linen-mounted and has had restoration to top left, bottom right and scattered throughout. Moderate aging at top and along left/right margins. VG. Scarce.
