Item Description
Original 11x14" title card for The Three Stooges' 65th short film for Columbia, 1942's "Even As IOU." The story deals w/The Stooges as con men selling phony racing forms. After evading the police, they help a destitute mother and her daughter by utilizing the money from the child's piggy bank, winning a horse race. Riding high on their win, the boys come across two swindlers who trick them into buying retired race horse, Seabasket. Broke again, the Stooges start taking care of the old horse, w/Curly accidentally swallowing a pill meant for the horse, which results in Curly giving birth to an equid, which they crown as another winning race horse. Title card features all Three Stooges in two scenes; one outside of "Dr. O.B. Stretrick" veterinary office w/baby equid and another seated around table. Card is evenly aged and has pin holes at tops corners w/single pin hole at upper right margin and pinholes at center left/right margin. Bottom corners exhibit foxing and margins have scattered dust soiling/aging. Lower left margin has .5" tear. Scattered handling wear, but would still make for Fine display if matted and framed. All lobby cards from this short are rare and desirable, none more so than the title. First card/poster we've offered from this short in our 51 years.
