Item Description
1" dia. patriotic button produced during the World War II era depicting The Great Zarro portrait set inside "V" for Victory design. The great Zarro made his first appearance in "Great Comics" #1 in Nov. 1941. "Philadelphia Badge" maker's name on curl. Trace aging to metal back but front is totally bright and glossy. Slight fade to red color and trace aging to 12 to 1 o'clock and 5 to 6 o'clock positions. Fine overall. Among the rarest comic club buttons, we know of just three examples. Our last in higher grade sold for $1,150.
