Item Description
Lot of seven buttons. Four 7/8" dia. "Max Fleischer's Talkatoons" tin litho buttons, including two different size/color varieties of both Betty Boop and Bimbo. Scattered aging/wear. Fine to VF overall. 13/16" dia. "Max Fleischer's Talkatoons" tin litho button features same Betty design as previous two buttons w/matching "27" number. Button shows moderate wear and is VG. All "Max Fleischer's Talkatoons" buttons were made by Western Theatre Premium Co. and from various sets of 50 comic characters issued by Western during the 1930s. Three have company name and address on curl. Lot also include 1-1/16 dia. tin litho "Sunday Chicago American" newspaper-issued button noting "16 Pages Of Comics" above close-up portrait of Betty. Back has Greenduck imprint. Rim has some lt. wear but still glossy and VF overall. 7/8" dia. celluloid button featuring Bimbo is from c. 1931 set w/Phila. Badge Co. backpaper. Top edge reads "A Paramount Star Created By Fleischer Studios." Right edge has air under cello at 3 to 4 o'clock area, but o/w button remains clean and glossy. Exc. Rare.
