Item Description
11x15.5x9" deep cardboard box w/photo illustrated label on front of box and toy illustration on back contains 9.5x13.25x6.25" deep hard plastic battery-operated dashboard w/cardboard back having printed instructions. Remco, ©1966 Greenway Production, Inc. Box label features photo portrait of Van Williams as Green Hornet w/dashboard, small photos at left show Williams as Green Hornet and Bruce Lee as Kato. Label has slightest fade and has color touch-ups to scratches on Green Hornet's face at right. Label has some corner tip wear w/creases. Box has even aging w/some scattered surface paper loss to white portions from insect damage. Top box flaps have moderate creasing w/1.5" tear and .5" edge tear. One top flap has some ink scribbling. Bottom has had tape reinforcement added to interior. Still displays Fine overall. Dashboard is designed w/moving steering wheel, corresponding moving speedometer, "Motorized Windshield Wipers, Working Horn, Workable Gearshift" and "Electric Directions Signals" plus glove compartment, turning radio knobs, cigarette lighter and ignition. Dash also features battery and fuel gauges, both w/hornet insect logo. Clear plastic windshield has rearview mirror w/reflective foil insert. Comes w/original metal key w/green plastic keychain in the shape of Black Beauty. All functions work. Dashboard has some lt. aging and "The Green Hornet" sticker on windshield shows moderate age spotting due to adhesive. Sticker has some scattered wear and is Fine overall. Dashboard displays Fine/VF. Not only considered the Holy Grail of Green Hornet merchandise but one of the rarest and most sought after of all 1960s character toys. This is the only example we have ever offered in our 51 years. It is the very same one we sold in our Nov. 2015 auction for $14,055, now consigned back to us by the previous winning bidder.
