Item Description
AFA graded and encapsulated 4" tall "Spider-Man (Black Costume)" action figure from Mattel's "Secret Wars" toyline. ©1984. This is an unproduced design variety w/softer legs and chest symbol featuring spider legs overlapping body. AFA-graded 85 NM+. Distortion of image of AFA label was caused by interior plastic brace. Label is complete and fully legible. Includes certificate from CIB (Collectible Investment Brokerage) w/the following notations - "Verified To Have Originated From Former Mattel Employee. Has Softer Legs And Spider Logo With Legs Overlapping Body." In our last auction we offered an AFA-graded First Shot prototype of this figure which sold for $1,626. Incredibly rare to find any unproduced designs from this line, much less a key character such as Spider-Man w/provenance.
